Australian Ayrshires Federal Council Nomination Form

The President, Mr Scott Braendler wishes to advise that the 2017 AGM of Australian Ayrshires will be held on Tuesday Night, November 28th 2017 at 8pm EDST via teleconference.

The Federal Council calls for nominations to the Australian Ayrshires Federal Council.

Retiring Federal Council Members (eligible for re election) are:

 

Scott Braendler

Rod Morris

Michael Eagles

Ray Zerner

 

4 positions are to be filled.

If more nominations are received than positions vacant, there will be a postal ballot of the Membership prior to the AGM.

Nominations are to be received by the Federal Secretary by 4.00pm EDST Friday November 3rd 2017.

Calling for All Australian / Production / Cow of the Year Entries

The 2017 All Australian Photographic Competition Entry Forms, Cow of the Year and Australian Ayrshire National Production Award Entry Forms are now available.

All competition entries are due by Wednesday November 15th 2017.

We have had the pleasure of Mr. Eric Ross kindly sponsoring $1000 toward the National Production Awards as Prize Money, for which we thank him greatly.

Stella Results in All Breeds at Adelaide Royal

A huge congratulations must go to the South Australian branch on once again a phenomenal Royal Adelaide Show.

Roughly 120 Ayrshire exhibits were on display for New Zealand judge, Mr Derek Hayward.
(In comparison to the Holsteins who were Feature Breed only having 66 entries in total.)
With tremendous depth of quality in all classes across the day and most juvenile classes containing roughly 15 entries.

The Ayrshire’s then continued their success in the Interbreed Judging with favorable comments from a number of spectators and all judges.

And in a breed first, Boldview Bonaparte Spect, owned by Boldview Farms won the Supreme Champion Dairy Cow title for 2017.

36th Annual Ayrshire Fanfare Sale tops $5000

The long standing Ayrshire Fanfare Sale at Camperdown was again well supported with buyers from NSW, Tasmania, South Australia and throughout Victoria.

Sale top of $5000 was paid by NSW young breeder DC & TJ Wallis of Candelo for the successful Show heifer Cher-Bar Fars Lexie a/c Cheryl Liebich of Jervois, SA. This huge capacity heifer had Reserve Intermediate Champion and Champion Sale lot at the Fanfare Show the day prior and is sired by Boldview Obliques Far from a Wattle Park Skibo dam.

Next top price of $4600 was paid by local buyer Christine Gall of Dreeite for the smart heifer Boldview Incant Aari who had won her class at the Fanfare Show, she was sired by a son of 4 time Adelaide Royal Champion Cher-Bar MP Inarnate and backed by a VG dam and EX 2nd & 3rd dams. Caitlyn Liebich sold Ayrborne Real McFlurry backed by generations of EX & VG cows at $2900 to Eagles Partnership of Gooloogong, NSW.

Other noted sales included Boldview Bills Wonderland at $2600 selling to W & A Macadam of Tatura and Avago YT Browny a yearling from an EX dam a/c R & L Morris at $2500 selling to M & J Eagles of Moto, NSW.

Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report 20 females ave $1990.00.
